AUSTRIAN 1930's COLD PAINTED WHITE METAL FIGURE OF THE FENCER BY JOSEF LORENZL.

Fine quality hand painted figure of the fencer by Josef Lorenzl, the figure is unsigned as this model always is but it is attributed to Lorenzl. The detail to the figure is exceptional and it is fitted to a white marble base. Joseph Lorenzl was born in Austria in 1892, he worked as a metal work artist in the Vienna and died in 1950. The salver is beautifully engraved, THE BRITISH EMPIRE EXHIBION THE PALACE OF INDUSTRY WEBBLEY PARK 1924, with a detailed engraving of the exhibition building. Very nice black age patina as it has never been cleaned but this makes it difficult to photograph, it is a lot nice than it might appear in the photographs.  read more
